Fluid Mechanics: Pitot Tubes and Bernoulli's Equation

Pitot Tubes are devices that are used to determine the velocity of a fluid, or an object moving through a fluid. The Pitot tube does this by determining the difference in pressure between the static pressure and stagnation pressure of the fluid. Refer to equation 1.

Pitot Tube Velocity Equation (1)

v = velocity

P = Pressure

ρ = Density
